ART COMES ALIVE

How does art inspire art?

The Loudoun Symphony invites you to experience Art Comes Alive, a performing and visual arts collaboration for creative artists from around the county.

Student visual artists of all ages and grade levels in Loudoun County are invited to submit creative responses to Russian composer Modest Mussorgsky’s grand suite Pictures at an Exhibition. All visual artwork that represents the theme and is submitted by a Loudoun County public-school, private-school, or homeschool student will be accepted. Each student who submits an accepted entry will receive two free general admission tickets to the concert, and awards will be presented for the best entries in each age group.

On the evening of April 26, 2025, the Loudoun Symphony Orchestra will present a full, live performance of Pictures at an Exhibition, along with works by acclaimed composers Alberto Ginastera, Jessie Montgomery, and Maurice Ravel, at Freedom High School. Submitted artwork will be featured in a gallery at the concert and an online gallery, and winners will be honored by the orchestra with Maestro Hayden Denesha.
