Contrasts

Classical

Welcome to the Loudoun Symphony’s nineteenth season! A truly wide-ranging musical exploration is in store for audience and musicians alike this year. The October, March and May performances will each contrast the established power of a time-honored classic with the thrill of exploring new musical territory. Joining us will be acclaimed composer David Amram, saxophonist Noah Getz, Loudoun guitarist Miroslav Loncar, our American Composers Competition winner, and local students whose visual art will be displayed in a slideshow accompanied by Copland’s beloved Appalachian Spring. Our December concert brings you music of the season and holiday sing-along with guest vocalist Carole McNeil as well as an appearance by Loudoun’s Got Talent winner, pianist Jason Greco. The annual Family Concert will entertain with dance and musical stories, featuring narrator Don O’Brien and the Loudoun Ballet Company in Peter and the Wolf and Loudoun storyteller Laura J. Bobrow in Goldilocks and the Three Bears. The intimacy and artistic challenge of our chamber concert series will continue at Franklin Park. Come and enjoy our season of Classical Contrasts!
